The Boring Stuff

Every promise we make on this website, spelled out properly — what's covered, what isn't, and how the referral programme actually works. No lawyer-speak, no traps.

Last updated: 29 July 2026

The short version

  • Parts we fit are guaranteed for 12 months against faults. Our workmanship is guaranteed for 90 days.
  • Quotes are free. The price we confirm after inspecting your device is the price you pay — we never do extra work without asking first.
  • New damage, liquid damage and someone else's tinkering aren't covered. Back up your device before you drop it off.
  • Referrals: your mate gets $20 off their first repair, you get 20% off for 3 months once their repair is done and paid.

Quotes & pricing

Prices shown on our pricing page and in any quote are estimates based on the device and fault you describe. They're not final until we've physically inspected the device.

  • Quotes are free and there's no obligation to go ahead.
  • If we open your device and find extra damage — a bent frame, a damaged connector, water residue, a previous dodgy repair — we stop, tell you the revised price, and wait for you to say yes before doing any more work.
  • We never carry out work you haven't approved, and we never add charges after the fact.
  • All prices include GST.
  • If we can't fix your device, you don't pay a repair fee. Water-damage assessments are the one exception (see below).
  • Payment is due when you collect the device unless we've agreed otherwise in writing.

The parts guarantee

Every part we fit carries a 12-month guarantee against manufacturing or component failure under normal use, and our workmanship is guaranteed for 90 days. If a part we fitted fails within that time, we replace it free of charge — parts and labour.

What's covered

  • A screen, battery or other part we fitted developing a fault on its own under normal, everyday use.
  • Touch, display, camera, speaker or charging faults caused by the part we installed.
  • Anything that goes wrong because of how we did the job — a loose connector, a misseated screen, a missing screw.

What's not covered

  • New accidental damage — drops, cracks, crushes, bends or pressure damage after the repair. A cracked screen is not a faulty screen.
  • Liquid or moisture damage occurring after the repair, including sweat, rain and steam.
  • Devices opened, modified or repaired by anyone else after we handed them back — that voids the guarantee entirely.
  • Software and operating system issues, iOS updates, app problems, data loss, or Apple ID / activation lock issues.
  • Normal battery wear. A battery is only faulty if it fails or degrades abnormally, not because capacity drops with ordinary charge cycles.
  • Pre-existing faults in parts of the device we didn't repair, and faults we warned you about in writing before the repair.
  • Consumables and cosmetic wear — scratches, scuffs, adhesive, back glass on a device that's already flexed.
  • Water resistance. Once a device has been opened, its factory water resistance is gone and can't be restored. We never guarantee it.

How to claim

  • Bring the device in with your tracking code or the email address you booked with — your history is in the repairs portal.
  • We test the device first. If it's a covered fault, we fix or replace it free. If it's new damage, we'll show you what we found and quote you for it.
  • The guarantee covers the part and the device it was fitted to. It isn't transferable to another device, and it doesn't reset when a part is replaced under guarantee — the original 12 months continues.
  • We don't cover loss of use, travel costs, data loss, or any other flow-on cost.

Non-diagnosable parts

Some replacement screens are marked non-diagnosable on our pricing page. The screen works exactly as it should — brightness, touch, True Tone and Face ID all function normally — but iOS can't verify the part, so Settings will show an "Unknown Part" message.

  • We flag this clearly on the pricing page and in your quote before you book, and it's reflected in the lower price.
  • It is not a fault and it isn't grounds for a refund or a guarantee claim.
  • If you'd rather not have the message, choose the OEM option instead — just ask and we'll quote it.
  • Apple may add or change these messages in future iOS updates. That's outside our control.
  • By choosing a non-diagnosable part, you accept the risk that the device may display an 'Unknown Part' or similar message at any time, including after a software update. This is not a fault and does not entitle you to a refund, replacement, or further repair.

Data, backups & your device

  • Back up your device before you drop it off. Repairs shouldn't touch your data, but electronics fail and we can't guarantee it.
  • We are not responsible for any data loss, however it happens. We don't back up, copy or restore your data unless you specifically ask and we agree in writing.
  • You may be asked for a passcode so we can test the repair. We only use it for testing, and you're welcome to set a temporary one.
  • By handing us the device you confirm you own it or have the owner's permission. We won't work on devices that are reported lost or stolen, and we may report them.
  • We can't remove Apple ID or activation lock. Bring your credentials.
  • Uncollected devices: we'll contact you when your repair is ready. Storage is free for 30 days from the ready notification, then $5 per week. After 90 days an uncollected device is treated as abandoned and may be recycled or sold to recover unpaid charges. We'll always try to reach you first.
  • Parts we remove from your device become ours unless you ask for them back at drop-off.

Turnaround times

Most repairs are same-day, and we'll always give you a realistic estimate up front. Timeframes are indicative, not guaranteed.

  • Parts availability, courier delays and unexpected damage can push a repair out. We'll let you know as soon as we know.
  • A missed estimate isn't grounds for a refund or compensation.

Water-damaged devices

  • Liquid damage is unpredictable. We'll clean, assess and attempt a repair, but we can never guarantee a result — corrosion can keep spreading after the device appears fixed.
  • An assessment fee applies to liquid-damage jobs whether or not the device is recoverable, because the work involves full disassembly and cleaning. We'll tell you the fee before we start.
  • Devices recovered from liquid damage carry no guarantee on the device as a whole. Any part we fit still carries its normal parts guarantee.
  • A device that works after a liquid-damage repair may fail again later. That's the nature of it, and it isn't a guarantee claim.

Referral programme rules

The full rules for Refer a mate. These are the current settings and we'll update this page if they change.

For the person being referred

  • $20 off, applied to their first repair with us only.
  • One referral code per new customer, and it must be entered when the quote is requested. We can't apply it retrospectively once a repair is booked, priced or paid.
  • The referred person must be a genuinely new customer who hasn't had a repair with us before.
  • The discount applies to the repair total, not to accessories or device sales.

For the person referring

  • Your coupon is 20% off, and it starts once the referred repair is completed and paid — not when the code is used.
  • It runs for 3 months and can be used on as many of your own repairs as you like in that window. There's no cap.
  • Every further completed referral adds another 3 months to your coupon.
  • Your coupon is personal to you and can't be given away, sold or used by someone else.
  • If a referred repair is refunded, cancelled or charged back, the coupon time it earned is removed.

The bits people try it on with

  • No self-referrals. Referring yourself, your other email address, or a second account for the same person doesn't count.
  • No fake bookings. A referral only counts once a real repair has been completed and paid for.
  • Discounts can't be stacked. One discount per repair — the referral discount or a coupon or a promotional price, whichever we agree, not all three.
  • Coupons and discounts have no cash value and can't be exchanged for cash, credit or a refund.
  • We can pause, change or end the programme at any time. Coupons already earned will be honoured for their remaining term.
  • We may withdraw a code or coupon where we reasonably believe the programme is being abused.

The self-check tool

Our device self-check gives you a likely cause and a rough price range based on the symptoms you describe.

  • It's guidance only — not a diagnosis, not an inspection, and not a binding quote.
  • The real price and the real fault are confirmed only after we look at the device in person.
  • Don't rely on it to decide whether a device is worth repairing without talking to us first.

The repairs portal

  • The repairs portal verifies you by emailing a one-time code to the address on your repair. Codes expire after 15 minutes and can only be used once.
  • Anyone with access to that inbox can see your repair history — don't share your code, and tell us if your email address changes.
  • Warranty countdowns shown in the portal are a convenience. The terms on this page are what actually apply.
  • We may end a portal session at any time for security reasons. Just sign in again.

Liability & your rights

Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded — you're entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

  • Where the law allows us to limit our liability, we limit it to re-performing the repair or refunding what you paid for it.
  • We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost income, lost data, lost time, or the cost of a replacement device.
  • Devices that are already damaged, previously repaired by someone else, or structurally compromised carry a genuine risk of further damage during disassembly. We'll tell you if we think that's the case, and proceeding is your call.
  • We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control.

Changes to these terms

We may update this page from time to time. The terms that apply to your repair are the ones published when you booked it. This version was last updated on 29 July 2026.

Questions about any of it? Ask us — we'd rather explain it now than argue about it later.
